I will not claim to have read a lot of Shashi Tharoors work. But I remember
reading some work of his that compares Our Freedom Fighters to various
mythical characters and I remember that work to be funny in a way. But in
the book "The Elephant, The Tiger and The Cellphone" I love Shashi Tharoors
'India'!! It is refreshing, energetic and generates the kind of Soft-Power
that he mentions in the book. More books like this are the call of the hour.
More literate Indians need to be proud about what they are and where they
hail from. What I would like is to see 100's of people wearing T-shirts
reading "India Rocks", "India is my religion", "India is heaven" and on
similar lines. The Brand India has a beacon of hope in the form of Shashi
Tharoor. What I would like is young I finance their education in
literature, art , business exercising their new found financial freedom through
BPO's. We don't want an modern "indigo farmer", one who programs in the
interests of the needs of the more powerful corporates. What I would
specifically like is people to go out compose music, perform, create movies,
write books, spread the "INDIA" message around the world in more creative
endeavors and in the midst of all this to not forget the fellow Indians who
need support.
Coming back to the review of the Part-1, ITS SUPERB!!
